Jimmy Fry is hoping the Beast hits the ground running when Town travel to Leicestershire to take on Barwell later today.
Town’s captain believes the return of Mikey Taylor is a huge boost as the side enter the business end of the season.
“Mikey Taylor coming back is massive for us,” said Jimmy. “That’s the big news of the week. He was a huge part of how well we played before Christmas.
“To have someone like that come back in is brilliant. He loves the club, he loves playing here and just being around the place in general.
“I’m hoping Mikey’s arrival is going to refresh us all and hopefully he can capitalise on that, and start off how he means to go on today.
Jimmy is convinced that Taylor will make a big difference to the squad and believes it could be the spark needed to lift Stratford.
“I have no doubt he will have a massive effect on the rest of the season,” he said.
“Most likely, if given the chance, he will make an instant impact. He scored in the reverse fixture earlier in the season and we’re hoping for similar today.
“We’re looking to provide him with a new lease of life and whether he scores, or creates, or just his presence on the pitch, is going to be a benefit for us this afternoon.
Jimmy is aware that Mikey can’t do it on his own but he has every confidence that Town have a group of players that are more than up to the challenge.
We’re not out of the muddy waters just yet.” He said. “We’ve still got a job to do and the squad is focused on the games ahead.
“Everyone is committed to try and make something of the season, it’s time to knuckle down and crack on.
“It’s important to pick up points sooner rather than later. Anything can happen in the final five games of the season. It’s time to turn the corner now.
“If we can take as much pressure off the run in as possible, then we should be there or thereabouts come the end of the campaign.”
